Why

Social Media is ad driven and run by a few companies. There is no "capital" involved - the asset is the social graph.

This will be Wikipedia for Social Media that is non-commerical, and moderated.

Such platforms are easy to build, cheap to run (to start off) and the success will depend on adoption.

There is no reason such a platform should not exist

How will it be different from a Forum?

This platform will be a mix between a forum (like Reddit) and a pure social media platform like (Twitter) - where we will encourage conversations but the navigation will be based on personalities.

I use Twitter, because it is my personal log and also helps me explore personalities, rather than topics (like social media)

How

This platform will be centralized (probably a frappe app), well deisgned, free software and moderated. Current platform approaches focus on decentralization, which has bad user experience.

TLDR

Client-server social platform to be run non commercially - personality based, not thread based.
