1-31 March
Create. Contribute. Hack

Make progress towards your project, whether it's a project you're building or an existing project you're contributing to, whether you're coding, designing, documenting, testing, etc.
During this time, you can also seek out mentorship and expert advice regarding your work!

31 March
Last Call

Wrap up your work in a neat bow - make sure that your project has an appropriate description and a demo video. If you're writing code, make sure to add a link to the source code repository, e.g., GitHub repo.

4 May
Results

After multiple rounds of elimination, we will be sharing the results on Monday, the 4th of May. Projects will be evaluated for novelty, completeness, and relevance. For additional details, please see FAQs.

Rules in a nutshell

  1. Evaluation based on contributions made during the event duration
  2. Core functionality shouldn't depend on closed-source software or closed/proprietary APIs
  3. Your project must have a valid FOSS license
  4. The cash prize will be split among the winners at the discretion of the jury
  5. No blockchain/web3 or crypto projects. Why?

  7. Your projects will be judged on the basis of how meaningful of a problem you've decided to work on, and how well described that problem is. We will also look at the projects to evaluate how well you understand the codebase. If you have used an LLM to generate code, please make sure to give necessary attributions.


Localhosts

FOSS Hack Localhosts are localized, in-person editions of the broader hybrid version. Hackers can choose to hack at a localhost in your region.
