FOSS Hack Localhosts are localized, in-person editions of the broader hybrid version of FOSS Hack 2024. Hackers can choose to hack at a localhost in your region. There are several localhosts organised across the country.

Partner Projects Programme

An effort to provide FOSS Hack participants with time and mentorship to be able to contribute to curated open-source projects.

  • The partner projects programme offers a curated list of open source projects with issues, for FOSS Hack participants to work on.
  • The participants can look-up issues in a curated list of projects, and propose to contribute to them.
  • Once assigned, these issues can be worked on, and PRs generated.
  • The participants will have access to forum with the maintainers to get onboarding to the project, codebase and other related queries and support.

FAQ

This will be a hybrid mode hackathon. You can participate in person at one of our local editions or virtually. We will live stream a dashboard of commits, PRs and issues of participants' code repositories. During the course of the event, there will be bite sized talks from people from various organizations.

Yes. The prize pool will be divided among the winners based on the merit of projects at the discretion of the jury.

Anything Free and Open Source. The goal of this hackathon is to engage with developers and encourage them to collaborate and build software for public good.

Yes. Contributions in true spirit is something we would love to see. Please make sure you adhere to the contribution guidelines of the project you are contributing to.
