Introducing Feluda: Detect license usage restrictions in your project

Approved
Session Description

Remember when you’re building something cool and you pulled in a bunch of dependencies. But some of those come with license restrictions that can block commercial use or force your code open.

Feluda is a CLI tool that scans your dependencies and flags anything tricky before it becomes a problem. In this talk, I’ll show how it works and how it can save your project from legal headaches.

It's written in rust, built as an FOSS project and currently supports rust, go, js and python projects.

Key Takeaways
  • Stay safe from unwanted complicated dependency licensing.

  • Use alternate project or dependency that's less restrictive.

  • Adjust your project license when needed.
