(i) Important Notes
At the Venue: Please arrive at least 1 hour before your talk's scheduled time, and be in your respective auditorium room before 15 minutes, and please get your technical requirements checked with the team as well.
Travel Support: Unfortunately, we do not have the budget to provide travel support for speakers.
Wifi Credential: Will be communicated to you via email by SPOC before the commencement of the event.
Speaker Dinner: On Day 1, i.e., 20 September, you are invited to a speaker dinner, which will be served in the General Hall area. Kindly note that a speaker badge is essential for access.
Free passes: All registered speakers have been sent a coupon code via email to claim their complimentary conference pass. To claim your ticket, simply head to IndiaFOSS Free Pass and use the coupon code provided in the email.
Maintainers Summit: The Maintainer Summit, an unconference, allows open source and open commons maintainers to discuss their perspectives before IndiaFOSS. This is an unconference-style event, so the attendees decide the session and schedule at the venue.

1. Welcome to IndiaFOSS 2025
The IndiaFOSS team is delighted to welcome you to IndiaFOSS 2025 in Bangalore, India. This document provides essential information for speakers.
Below, you’ll find detailed information about the schedule, facilities, and travel arrangements. We know food is a vital part of the experience, so we’ve included details about catering and recommendations for local cuisine.
If you have any questions about the event agenda, please visit the Registration Desk or contact your SPOC. We look forward to spending time with all of you throughout the event. Thank you for joining us in Bangalore, India.
2. Communication
Please join us on the following channels for additional info and exchange among each other during the event: t.me/fossunited.
The official communication channel is the Telegram community "FOSS United," with a dedicated IndiaFOSS channel available.
2.1 For Issues and Queries:
To ensure a seamless and efficient communication process, an IndiaFOSS Volunteer will be designated as your dedicated Single Point of Contact (SPOC). This individual will serve as your primary liaison for any ad-hoc queries or assistance you may require throughout your engagement with IndiaFOSS 2025.
“If not already connected”, you can easily reach your assigned IndiaFOSS volunteer by sending an email to speakers.indiafoss@fossunited.org. Furthermore, it is highly recommended that you exchange direct contact details, such as phone numbers or preferred messaging app handles, with your SPOC during your initial interactions. This will allow for more immediate and flexible communication, especially for urgent matters or quick clarifications.
The SPOC's role is to provide timely responses, direct you to relevant resources, and escalate issues internally when necessary, ensuring all your questions are addressed comprehensively and efficiently.
3. Arrival in Bangalore
3.1 Arrival at Airport
Nearest Airport: Kempegowda International Airport (BLR), Bengaluru
Transportation Options:
Bus (Recommended):
- Route: Kempegowda International Airport → Shanthinagara Bus Station
- Estimated travel time: 1 hour, 10 minutes
- Estimated price: 200-300 INR
- The bus runs approximately every 30 minutes and operates Monday to Friday.
- 2 km from Shanthinagara Bus Station to NIHMANs, you can either walk or take an autorickshaw.
Taxi:
- Book a cab with Namma Yatri, Ola Cabs, or Bharat Taxi
- Estimated travel time: 1 hour
- Distance: 40.9 km
- Estimated cost: The estimated cost for a taxi from Kempegowda International Airport to NIMHANS Convention Centre.

3.2 Arrival at Railway Station
Nearest Railway station - KSR Bengaluru City Junction (Bangalore)
Transportation Options:
a) Subway: From KSR Bengaluru, take the subway to Majestic. Walk 11 minutes to the Majestic Bus Stop, then take a Green Line subway to Southend Circle. Continue to NIMHANS. The total journey is around 20 minutes, with a cost of ₹18–27.b) Taxi: From KSR Bengaluru, a taxi ride to NIMHANS takes approximately 10 minutes and costs around ₹250–300. Click Here
c) Bus: From KSR Bengaluru, walk 10 minutes to the Majestic Bus Stop. Then take a bus to Dairy Circle and transfer to a bus heading to NIMHANS. The journey takes about 22 minutes, with fares ranging from ₹75–1,300.
d) Bus via NIMHANS Hospital: From KSR Bengaluru, take a BMTC bus to NIMHANS Hospital. The service runs every 5 minutes and takes about 41 minutes.

4. Internet Connectivity
Wi-Fi will be available at the venue. Details on the network name and password will be shared closer to the event by the SPOC

5. Registration
All registered speakers have been sent a coupon code via email to claim their complimentary conference pass. To claim your free pass, please visit IndiaFOSS Free Pass and apply the provided coupon code.
Collection at Venue:
- Pass Collection: Speakers can collect their physical passes at the venue by verifying their digital copy.

7. Presentation Slides

At IndiaFOSS, we strive to create an inclusive environment for all attendees. We would appreciate it if you could consider these pointers while creating your slides.
- Ensure that slides are visible in a larger auditorium when you choose the color contrast.
- Recommended font size is 14/16.
- The event will be livestreamed, please be careful while showing other third party videos in case they are copyrighted
- We highly encourage our speakers to take an extra step in ensuring that your presentation slides are color-blind accessible. This can significantly enhance the experience for everyone, and we deeply appreciate your efforts in making your content accessible to all.
8. Dress Code
The suggested dress code for speakers is smart casual or any attire suitable for a public gathering.
9. Suggested Self-Organized Gatherings
We will be hosting the Maintainers Summit on 19th September 2025.
Apart from this, we encourage speakers to organize informal gatherings. Here are some suggested venues in Bangalore:
a) Cubbon Park: A large public park in the heart of the city, perfect for a morning walk or casual meetup.
b) UB City: An upscale shopping center with several restaurants and cafes, suitable for evening gatherings.
c) Lalbagh Botanical Garden: Another beautiful park, ideal for morning meetings or picnics.
d) Church Street: A popular street with numerous cafes and restaurants, great for casual meetups.
10. Facilities at the Event

We’re pleased to offer child care services for participants during the conference. If you require this service, kindly inform us in advance so we can make the necessary arrangements. Our goal is to provide a comfortable and secure environment for your children, allowing you to fully engage in the conference activities.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided on both Saturday and Sunday.
On Day 1, dinner will be served in the General Hall area. Access to all meals requires a speaker badge.
- Water Dispenser
Stay hydrated sustainably! Water dispensers are conveniently placed in the exhibition area. Help reduce waste by refilling your water bottles here.
11. Photography and Videography
IndiaFOSS appreciates all coverage of the event. Photography, audio recordings, and video recordings are permitted without the prior written consent of IndiaFOSS. Photographs, audio, and video will be captured during the Conference. We will be filming the talks and presentations.
- Imaging and Video Consent
By entering IndiaFOSS, attendees and speakers grant IndiaFOSS and its representatives permission to photograph and/or record them at the Conference, and distribute (both now and in the future) the Attendee's image or voice in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions, and audiotapes if they are captured.
We kindly ask attendees and speakers who do not wish to be photographed or captured on video to indicate this to the SPOC.
