MCP Inspector

Open-source observability and debugging toolkit for Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers.

Description

MCP Inspector is an open-source developer console for integrating, inspecting, and debugging Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers through a clean graphical interface.

It operates independently of any specific LLM provider, making it compatible with local models, hosted APIs, or custom AI runtimes. By focusing purely on the MCP layer, MCP Console ensures true model-agnostic interoperability.

It allows developers to connect and manage multiple MCP servers from a unified interface, automatically discover and visualise available tools, and interactively test call_tool requests through a structured GUI. It provides live monitoring of tool executions, including latency tracking, error reporting, and detailed request/response inspection to simplify debugging and performance analysis. Designed to be fully local-first and self-hostable, MCP Console operates independently of any specific LLM provider, ensuring seamless integration across diverse AI runtimes without vendor lock-in.
