The proposed project is a Soil-Based Crop Advisory System designed to support small and marginal farmers in making scientific farming decisions. The system analyzes soil properties such as pH, NPK, EC, and soil type to recommend suitable crops, appropriate fertilizers, irrigation schedules, and integrated farming options. It also provides information about agricultural companies and contract farming opportunities to improve farmer income and sustainability.
Agriculture plays a vital role in the Indian economy, especially for small and marginal farmers. However, many farmers select crops and apply fertilizers based on traditional knowledge rather than scientific soil analysis. This often results in low productivity, soil degradation, excessive input costs, and unstable income.
The proposed Crop Advisory System aims to address these challenges by developing a data-driven platform that provides personalized recommendations based on soil properties and environmental conditions.
The system will:
Analyze soil parameters (pH, Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium, EC, soil type)
Recommend suitable crops based on soil suitability
Suggest fertilizer type and required dosage
Provide irrigation scheduling guidance
Recommend integrated farming models (crop + dairy/poultry/fishery)
Share verified agricultural company and contract farming details
The system can be developed as a mobile or web application with future integration of real-time weather data and AI-based yield prediction. The main objective is to improve productivity, reduce input costs, enhance soil health, and increase farmer income through scientific decision support.
