๐ฆ Open Civic Issue Reporter
๐ด Problem Statement
In many Indian towns and semi-urban areas (especially smaller regions near cities), citizens struggle to report civic issues such as:
Broken roads
Garbage overflow
Water leakage
Streetlight failures
Complaints are usually made offline, through informal channels, or are ignored due to lack of transparency and tracking systems. There is no centralized, easy-to-use digital platform that connects citizens directly with municipal authorities.
๐ข Proposed Solution
We propose Open Civic Issue Reporter, an open-source, AI-powered civic reporting platform that enables citizens to report local problems in a simple and transparent way.
๐น Key Features:
๐ธ Photo-based Reporting โ Users upload an issue photo with automatic GPS location tagging.
๐ค AI Auto-Categorization โ The system uses an image classification model to automatically detect the issue type (road damage, garbage, leakage, etc.).
๐บ Map-Based Visualization โ Issues are displayed on an OpenStreetMap interface for better geographic tracking.
๐ Municipality Dashboard โ Authorities get a dashboard to view, filter, and manage complaints.
๐ Status Tracking System โ Complaint lifecycle tracking (Open โ In Progress โ Resolved).
๐ Real-Time Updates โ Users receive updates when their issue status changes.
