CivicBridge

Open Platform for Discovering Public Schemes and Reporting Civic Issues

Description

CivicBridge is an open-source citizen assistance platform designed to bridge the gap between people and public services. Millions of citizens remain unaware of government welfare schemes, scholarships, and subsidies they are eligible for, while civic issues like potholes, garbage dumps, or broken streetlights often go unreported or unresolved due to opaque complaint systems.

CivicBridge addresses these problems through two integrated modules:

1. Scheme Navigator
A simple eligibility-based discovery system that helps users find relevant government schemes, scholarships, and public welfare programs. Users enter basic information such as age, income, education level, and location, and the platform filters and recommends programs they qualify for while clearly explaining the eligibility criteria and application links.

2. Civic Issue Reporter
A community-driven civic reporting system where citizens can upload photos and locations of local issues such as potholes, garbage accumulation, water leaks, or broken infrastructure. Issues are displayed on a public map, enabling communities to track and highlight unresolved problems transparently.

The platform aims to improve public awareness, transparency, and community participation by making civic information more accessible and actionable. Built with an open-source approach, CivicBridge can be extended with additional datasets, local government integrations, and community contributions to support civic engagement at scale.
