A Django-based web platform to manage logistics of large, short-term educational programs like Splash.
ESP-Website is an open-source web application built with Django and Python, developed and maintained by Learning Unlimited and the interscholastic Splash community. It helps organizers manage the full lifecycle of large, short-term educational events, including student and teacher registration, class scheduling, program modules, onsite check-ins, and communications. The project is actively maintained with 100+ forks and an MIT license.
As part of FOSS Hack 2026, I plan to contribute to open issues in the repository — including UI improvements, bug fixes, and feature enhancements. Contributions will include writing code, submitting pull requests, and engaging with maintainers for review and feedback.
This project is a great fit for FOSS Hack as it is a real-world, impactful platform used by educational programs across the US, with a welcoming contributor community and well-documented issues ready for contribution.
