RoadNexus

An AI-Driven Intelligent Driver Monitoring System

Description

RoadNexus – Intelligent Driver Monitoring & Road Safety System

Distracted driving contributes to 25% of road crashes, while drunk driving accounts for 19% of road fatalities, and driver fatigue is responsible for 10-20% of accidents. These alarming statistics emphasize the urgent need for a technology-driven solution that tackles these three leading causes of road accidents, ultimately enhancing road safety.

RoadNexus is an AI-powered driver monitoring system designed to address these issues through biometric authentication, AI-driven behavior analysis, and breath alcohol detection. By integrating these technologies, the system ensures that only authorized drivers can operate the vehicle while continuously monitoring their behavior to prevent accidents.

To start the vehicle, the driver must first use their keys as usual, followed by fingerprint verification for authentication. This ensures that there is no swap of drivers during the journey, thereby promising passenger safety. A breath alcohol sensor continuously tracks the driver's Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC). If intoxication is detected, the system activates warning lights and alarms, automatically limits vehicle speed, and notifies authorities.

For real-time driver monitoring, RoadNexus employs AI-powered facial recognition with IR cameras to track eye movements and head posture, detecting drowsiness, fatigue, or distraction. It functions effectively even at night or when the driver is wearing a mask. If signs of distraction are identified, instant audible alerts are triggered, ensuring the driver remains focused and reducing the risk of accidents.

By implementing biometric security, AI-based behavior monitoring, and automated preventive actions, RoadNexus prevents unauthorized vehicle access, minimizes drunk driving incidents, and enhances driver alertness in high-traffic environments. Designed to revolutionize road safety, this system represents a proactive solution to reducing accidents and ensuring safer roads for all.
