BiteVibe - A Crowd Sourced Food Insights App
Project Description
The Crowd Sourced Food Insights App is an open-source mobile and web application designed to empower users with comprehensive, crowd-sourced information about the food products they consume. Inspired by the Yuka app, our app leverages the collective knowledge of its users to provide detailed insights into the nutritional value, ingredients, and health impact of various food items.
Progress Status: The project is currently in an intermediate stage. Some parts of the application are functional, while others are still under development.
Backend Development:
Developed a basic backend to handle EAN ID inputs and query relevant databases for product information.
Integrated APIs for retrieving product data.
Implemented basic data processing and storage mechanisms.
Frontend Development:
Designed and implemented a user-friendly interface for inputting EAN IDs.
Created initial versions of pages displaying product information.
Established basic user interaction features and navigation.
Crowd-Sourcing Mechanism:
Designed a system for users to contribute and validate product data.
Implemented basic user authentication and data submission functionalities.
