ReportWe are the organizing team for openSUSE India - Bengaluru Connect 2027: Divyanshu Prakash, Dushyant Acharya and Rithull Raj Kallat. The event is planned for two consecutive days in January 2027 at Newton School of Technology, Bengaluru, in collaboration with the college. Exact dates and overnight permission remain to be confirmed. Participation is capped at 250, with 30 staff/support separately catered. The college provides the venue, internet and basic facilities at no cash cost, as advised by the organizers. The program combines three 30-minute Linux/openSUSE talks, parallel Starter Lab and Idea Lab sessions, a 20-hour Geeko Buildathon (Day 1 2:30 PM to Day 2 10:30 AM), a QR-based Geeko Quest, optional Rookie/Expert Midnight Bug Hunt, four Arcade games and a Demo Arena for every submitting team. Six finalists pitch on stage. Tracks are Terminal Titans, Root Access, GeekoOps, Desktop Reboot, Upstream Heroes, and What Does Linux Need Next? We seek FOSS United event support and community collaboration to introduce students to Linux, encourage useful FOSS contributions and connect new contributors with the wider community. We also plan to seek sponsorship from openSUSE. FOSS United and openSUSE are prospective partners; no sponsorship is confirmed.
