Report

I am an independent open source developer based in India. I built Misata as a side project to solve a real problem I kept running into: generating realistic, relationally intact test data without needing a copy of production. The project has grown into a library whose every declared number is re-checked by DuckDB in a certificate anyone can run, a built-in MCP server for AI coding agents, and integrations with Databricks, Delta Lake, and dbt. I maintain it alone and am looking for funding to work on it more seriously.

Misata

spdx:MIT

Misata is declarative synthetic data for Python. You state the facts a dataset must hold, such as monthly revenue, channel shares, balanced ledgers, foreign keys and state machines, and it generates multi-table data that holds them exactly, from a YAML schema, SQL DDL, a live database or a sentence. A DuckDB certificate that anyone can rerun proves the result. No ML model and no real data are needed. Misata ships a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server so AI coding agents (Claude, Cursor, Windsurf) can call it directly. It integrates with Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and dbt. It is used for database seeding, integration test fixtures, BI demo data, and statistical method validation.
