Report

I'm a civil engineering student with a passion for system engineering. I have contributed to many open source projects since 2020. I am currently the maintainer of the GHC/Haskell ecosystem for the Termux project. I am currently working on making the Glasgow Haskell Compiler (GHC) run natively on Android, which involves patching various Android bionic libc quirks, dynamic linker restrictions, and other differentiating factors from a normal linux distribution.

Projects

Glasgow Haskell Compiler cross-compilation toolchain targeting Android

spdx:Apache-2.0, spdx:BSD-3-Clause

This project builds and provides cross-compilation toolchains for GHC for all four Android architectures (aarch64, armv7a, x86_64, i686) with various downstream patches.

Funding Plans

Make Android a Tier-1 supported platform by ghc

One-time · INR

Haskell/GHC on Android is currently available downstream in Termux through a lot of manual patching. My goal is to upstream these patches, build a proper CI for regression testing, and ultimately make Android a Tier-1 platform so people can build native Haskell apps for Android without fighting the toolchain.
