Let’s be honest, piracy powers the digital world more than most companies would like to admit. Millions of users rely on it daily for books, music, games, and shows-not because they love breaking laws, but because access, affordability, and control are broken.
This session will introduce Kotatsu, A Free and Open source software application that gives users control over their digital content without corporate gatekeeping.
Piracy is often dismissed as “wrong” without addressing why it happens. Because no one wants to talk about, but everyone is living it. Piracy isn’t going away by moral shaming or lawsuits. It exists because industries fail to serve users. If piracy is wrong, then why do FOSS alternative like Kotatsu feel so right?
