Software for better governance

Review Pending

Session Description

Simple database based applications can empower govt. officials and solve problem that have NOT received any attention.

To illustrate this I would like to talk about two success stories from 2010:

Accident Reporting Systems for traffic police

Schedule Management for public transit.

This requires open collaboration, open data format and many more interesting things.

This talk would create excitement in the community about challenging problems in e-Governance.

I don't see how open source is even related to talk because it doesn't elaborate.

Rahul's comment:While two specific instances are provided, there needs to be a lot more detail in the proposal to approve it. Specifically, what problems were being addressed, how did the applications empower the government officials, what FOSS technologies were used, what are the "many more interesting things", etc. Please refer to the proposal guidelines at https://forum.fossunited.org/t/talk-proposal-guidelines-for-a-foss-conference/1923 the next time you submit a talk proposal. it was earlier deleted.Rahul is a fellow reviewer

Very vague proposal. I don't see much of what they want to talk about.
