Text and Typst: Compiling documents and presentations

Google Docs and Microsoft Word are, unfortunately, the word editors of choice for a majority of people, especially students. Some might have heard about LaTeX, but they might have also heard about how difficult it is to install and/or use. Typst is the best of both worlds - easy to install and use, while giving you a sense of LaTeX's power.

In this short lightning talk, I will live-code the following

• Write and compile a short and simple document, highlighting the relevant parts of the documentation

• Create and compile a presentation, showcasing the presentation-specific packages from the Typst universe

• What is Typst

• How to create documents using Typst

• How to create presentations using Typst
