GSoC Journey in 15 minutes

I am a GSoC Contributor at stdlib in the year 2025. Through this talk I want to share my experience in GSoC, Why is it not just a hype? What makes GSoC a bigger program than just a $3000 stipend and 3 months program? I would also like to address the point that GSoC is way different than the videos present on the internet.

I would like to share my knowledge of GSoC in the form of my story, How I started? Why I choose stdlib? How I went from 1 PR merged till the end of February and being the favored person during the proposal submission which starts at March end?

The motive of this talk is to make the audience understand that GSoC can be an entry point for them to the real world of open source and their contributions create an impact in this real world
