In this talk, I will share my journey from making a single pull request to becoming a CNCF Ambassador. I will discuss how I got involved in the cloud native community, how I started contributing to open source projects, and how I eventually became a leader in the community. I will also talk about the challenges and rewards of being a CNCF Ambassador, and I will discuss the X-Factors to the attendees who are interested in getting involved in the cloud native community.
As the very title suggests, my story is a bit accidental, but it is also a testament to the power of open source and the cloud native community. I started out with very little knowledge of cloud computing, but I was willing to learn and contribute. The cloud native community is incredibly welcoming and supportive, and I have learned so much from the people I have met along the way.
Most importantly, the cloud native enthusiasts will get the idea on how to come up by themselves to lead the community as an Ambassador. It can also inspire newbies to get involved in the community, help to educate people about cloud native technologies and practices, promote open source software, and strengthen the cloud native community.
Specifically, a CNCF Ambassador presentation can encourage people to contribute to open source projects, help people to learn about new cloud native technologies and practices, help people to find mentors and collaborators, and help to promote diversity and inclusion in the cloud native community which will eventually help them to become the next generation of CNCF Ambassadors.
