In this session, I'll share How one can leverage Open Source to gain a reputation and build credibility in tech which can open doors to new opportunities.
The Flow of the Session will be something like this:
- What's Reputation and Why should one care about it?
- Most Developers are introverted and they lack to show their skills in public or better I say "market" their skills. This is the time to focus on their reputation which can help them get a job, increment, and many other benefits. I'll be mainly discussing about this.
- A Secret Formula to Build Reputation
- Here, I'll share a Formula with devs with which they build their reputation in Tech. I've made the points in a formula to make things interesting.
Introducing Open Source
- I'll give a brief about Open Source, and Interact with the Audience about what they think about open source and What is Open Source according to them, it will give me a better idea to move to the next sections.
- How Open Source Helps to Build Reputation
- In this part I'll share how open source helps to build reputation, how it does all the points mentioned in the secret formula. I'll share my own example of contributing to Next.js collaborations, Getting a job at my current company etc as well.
- Action Items
- Till this, we have discussed Open Source, here I'll share how to start with Open Source and things to keep in mind while contributing to open source.
