Static Sites Are Good

Rejected

Session Description

In this talk, will talk about the importance of open and decentralized web with every person having their own little website, which they can treat as their microblog. To encourage this we need more static site awareness, how can one create their own site in minutes even with code and host it on a platform like vercel/netlify.

Will talk about when should people consider using javascript frameworks built for interactivity and when they should stick to good old HTML.

  • What are static sites?
  • What's their purpose?
  • Static site generators (11ty, astro, hugo, etc.)
  • When React?
  • Are we going back to the server rendering days?

Not Sure
I don't think this needs a talk. A blog post is more than enough.
