Open source is more than just code

Proposal status is Rejected
Session Description

In this talk, I will talk about my personal experience of how I got into open source, contributed to some open source projects, built some of my own, and shedding a light on how much one can learn by doing open source apart from just learning to code.

Key areas I would like to explore:

  • True meaning of open source
  • How open source teaches you more than one thing
  • Long term benefits
  • Communities and collaboration

I personally have contributed to open source projects on Github as well as publications such as CSS Tricks and freeCodeCamp.
