Driving Growth with FOSS: Entri's Journey Using Modern Data Stack

This session will cover how at Entri we provide valuable insights and data points to business stakeholders, enabling them to make informed decisions that have helped us scale the business to more than a million users with a modern data stack leveraging open-source tools through ELT. Taking the right steps at the right time is the best way to scale a business, especially when you have a million users; this is where data plays a critical role. We are constantly innovating and strategizing our data pipelines to help the business cater better products to our users. We moved to ELT with a modern data stack, understanding that we should be able to answer relevant questions now and also have the capability to address questions that may arise in the future for the business to function effectively.

The session will also cover how we chose the tools in the modern data stack that we are currently using for the different stages of the data pipelines, how we are using Airbyte for extracting and loading data from different sources, how dbt is used for transforming the data to provide meaningful insights, how Airflow is used for orchestrating the entire pipelines, and how Metabase is used for visualizing the data for the end users who run the business.

Entri App is India's vernacular e-learning platform for government exam preparation and upskilling. It offers a variety of courses in different languages, catering to users who prefer learning in their native languages. At Entri, as a vernacular learning platform, we have different courses in different languages handled by different business teams in various regions of the country. Data is critically important for each of these business units to understand how satisfied users are with each course, how each course is performing in terms of revenue, and what the ROI is.
