This talk aims to introduce the audience to deep-tech and give an overview of the National Deep-Tech Startup Policy. This includes -



What is Deep-Tech, what is the nature of deep-tech startups and how does this apply to the software sector?

An investor's POV on identifying deep-tech opportunities + Myth busting eg Is it all about IP/ having filed patents? (It's not)

Overview of the National Deep-Tech Startup Policy - provisions, gaps, recommendations and comments on funding, patent law, where is the government best positioned to service the need through grants vs where is private capital necessary, exit outcomes and ecosystem-wide trends

Venture Studios and models that have worked in other geographies that we can experiment with in India

Way forward for the sector

Hearing things from an investor's perspective should be...interesting. It is a perspective which is not usually seen at our open source conferences and local meetups.
