Scalable Strategies for Maintaining Your Open Source Project

Rejected

Session Description

Although developing applications in the open source environment can gain you quite a lot of traction, it also has its own set of challenges. We would like to present a talk encompassing the ways we feel project maintainers can implement to improve, and optimize, their community and repository management.

Any maintainer, who has just started off from scratch, or maybe has walked quite some path, would always be in need of guidance in the following areas:

  • 🗝️ Organizing code within repositories
  • 🗝️ Deciding between monorepo and multirepo structures
  • 🗝️ Making the code structure developer friendly, allowing developers to set it up at ease.
  • 🗝️ Implementing automated PR checks, review styles and more.
  • 🗝️ Maintaining comprehensive documentation.
  • 🗝️ Managing and tracking issues efficiently

We at Keyshade have spent a lot of time to come up with conventions and best practices that we have seen work out very well in real-life scenarios. This gives us the confidence to deliver our stories to our fellow developers.
