Uncovering the Hidden: Digital Forensics and Data Recovery with Req Data

Rejected

Session Description

I would talk about how the data storage devices work and then discover about how data recovery and forensics analysis is done at a systems level. Then I will talk about my white paper which I have attached in the references, and we will discuss about various digital forensics cases and how data recovery can be useful and how it can be successfully done. Then I will present about my FOSS tool called ResQ Data (https://github.com/The-x-35/resq-data), I am making this tool at IIT Bombay Trust Lab FOSSx Summer of Code. It is a cross platform tool for recovering permanently deleted files on Windows, Mac and Linux. It leverages the powers of The Sleuth Kit to complete this task and the user interface is so smooth that even kids can recover data from a drive using this tool. I am also adding some features in this tool which will allow the professional users to do forensics analysis with this tool's intuitive user interface. Last but not the least I will have questions and answers with the public.
