Making An Open Source Contribution: Live On Stage

Rejected

Session Description

A lot of folks who are interested in making contributions face inertia because of not knowing the first steps to take and the right contributions to make. This session is meant to introduce folks to the world of open source contributions.

In order to demonstrate what a contribution involves, the demo will contain a full workflow of identifying a contribution, making it on stage, and understanding the process of forking a codebase, making changes, and opening a pull request, while not forgetting to include meaningful commit messages.

The talk will also help folks identify different improvements that have been made by OSS communities towards inviting new contributors and the elevated contributor experience that exists today.

Not Sure
Talk is very FOSS-spirited but I would have liked to see more deep or advanced concepts covered which caters to both beginners and experienced audience.
