Bye bye datasheets, Hello HardwareLib

Proposal status is Rejected
Session Description

It's time to replace datasheets for hardware components with their simulation-ready physics models.

I will talk about our effort to create a comprehensive component library of electrical, thermal, fluid, mechanical, hydraulic components using Julia and Dyad, which makes it possible to run simulations and automated design optimizations.

I will also explain the advantages of acausal modeling over causal modeling and declarative syntax by showcasing real-world projects where this component library has been used by hardware makers.

Key Takeaways
  • Introduction to Dyad components for simulation and optimization of hardware designs

  • How we model multiple domains (physical, thermal, electrical, economical etc) in the same component

  • Process walkthrough and Showcase examples

  • Limitations and Next steps
