Screening

Session Description

This talk is going to introduce people to FOSS home automation solutions. I'll be talking in-depth about home assistant and the open home foundation. I'll also be covering FOSS home automation firmware like ESPHome and Tasmota. I'll also be giving examples/suggestions of hardware that supports FOSS firmware and is compatible with Home assistant.

P.S.: The session reference is just a link to the home assistant website for now. I'll add my slides once I complete them.

Key Takeaways

The goal is to get people aware about FOSS home automation solutions and let them know that home automation doesn't mean they have to sell their data and insights to corpos.
