Mankala Engine: A Qt-based application for playing various Mankala Games

Proposal status is Rejected
Session Description

The session shares my journey across the project, how I learned about Mankala, how I started contributing, and a lot of other amazing stuff.

The workshop will give the participants a brief idea of building and running QT and XMPP applications. This also covers how they can use different XMPP protocols and how Mankala has been effectively doing so.

I will be building the TUI and GUI versions of the Mankala Engine, then play the game with the participants and help them understand how XMPP connects two users and allows them to share moves through a common application.

I also plan to share different design elements and game physics using QT methods for QML, which will help in building such games, be it any artwork or any color schemes for the game.

Key Takeaways
  • Playing Mankala Engine TUI and GUI on Linux.

  • Understanding XMPP servers and protocols needed to make a game.

  • Creating visual elements and designs using QT physics and QML, respectively.

  • Logic for how two players connect with each other to play games and share moves.

  • Contributing to the Mankala Engine.
