Talk Advanced Open Hardware License v1.2 First Talk

Entering into a world of FPGAs with 4$ fully open source shrike-lite and shrikeFi

Proposal status is Rejected
Session Description

FPGAs are very rare in industry. Due to limited availability of hardware eco-system and software ecosystems FPGAs always were far away from a community. With shrike-lite and shrikeFi which are fully open source hardware and costs only 4$ and 9$ respectively, I want to demonstrate what FPGAs are, what you can do with FPGAs and what this tiny little dev board is capable of.
Further, there are open source toolchains available for FPGA synthesis ( currently not supported for forgeFPGAs ) name as yosys which i want to go thru once.

Key Takeaways
  • FPGAs what are they?

  • How do you program FPGAs right now

  • What you can do with 4$ shrike-lite. Since shrikeLite and Fi has RP2040 and esp32s3 respectively.

  • Open source fpga toolchains.
