Building India's Truly Integrated Multimodal Mobility Platform

Proposal status is Rejected
Session Description

Today's mobility solutions are largely built around ride-hailing. While convenient, they remain inaccessible or unaffordable for a significant portion of urban commuters, who rely on public transport for most of their daily journeys.

In this talk, we'll explore how Namma Yatri is building an integrated mobility platform that combines journey planning, real-time public transport information, ticket booking, and first- and last-mile ride-hailing into a single, seamless experience. By connecting every stage of a commuter's journey, from their doorstep to their destination, we aim to make public transport more accessible, convenient, and practical for everyday travel.

Beyond the user experience, we'll explore the engineering and ecosystem challenges of building a city-scale mobility platform. This includes integrating public and private transport providers, enabling real-time multimodal journey planning, and first- and last-mile connectivity, and creating an interoperable platform that can scale across cities. We'll also share the product vision, architectural decisions, and lessons learned while building one of India's first integrated multimodal mobility platforms.

Key Takeaways
  1. Why multimodal mobility is the next evolution of urban transportation.

  2. Designing seamless end-to-end journeys across multiple transport modes.

  3. Building scalable platforms for real-time routing, ticketing, and mobility orchestration.

  4. Lessons learned from deploying an integrated mobility platform at city scale.
