Android doesn’t impact general purpsose embedded solutions any more ! - Does it ?

Approved
Session Description

Though Google never solicited, recommended or promoted use of Android in the domains beyond what they officially offered like Mobile, TVs, auto – the engineering community picked Android AOSP, leveraged the Android software stacks & app ecosystem to build successful UI & connectivity centric products.

With the increase in performance of MCUs, easy access to pre-integrated secure/OTA elements, reduced bill of material on RAM, low power and connectivity solutions and above all the availability of open source software with UI frameworks & UI tools - the usage of Android gets limited in general purpose embedded (non-mobile/auto/TV) applications & segments.

Through this this talk let’s understand : the complexity of Android that makes its utilization less efficient in latest SOCs designed for general purpose applications, is Android still influential in Linux & open source ecosystem that caters to embedded world across domains, is there a need & dependency on Android app ecosystem for general purpose applications.
