Edge computing continues to advance, the need for efficient fleet management and delivery of container images to remote edge deployments is more pressing than ever.
We will use Harbor-Satellite, an open source project from maintainers of CNCF Harbor. Together, we will do a edge deployment with Harbor-Satellite to show how easy it is to deliver and manage container images and artifacts in edge environments, even with limited to no network connectivity. We will also delve into design of Harbor-Satellite and more complex ideas like zero-touch policies and importance of container registry that operates autonomously in edge deployments
1. The need for scalable fleet management for edge deployments is increasing.
2. We need to have a simplified way of managing delivery of artifacts to edge environments.
3. Attendees will find ideas to improve the delivery of artifacts to their edge deployments.
4. My goal is make sure that everyone who attends this would understand how to manage container delivery to the edge deployments.
These seems very copy pasted from KubeCon. It assumes a "Cloud Native" audience. I think distibuted k8s deployments are very cool, but this proposal would need to be reworked for a non-k8s audience. No need to dumb down the technical parts just need more explanation on the "why?"
Doesn't fit into the criterion for the "FOSS in Science" devroom. We request that this proposal be moved to the "Main Track" and reviewed as such
