This talk is an attempt to introduce Snac2, a minimal fediverse software, to a wider audience. Written in portable C, Snac2 uses bare minimum resources in the backend and offers a frontend that works without JavaScript. While being light weight, it is compatible with the popular Mastodon API and supports being used via apps supporting Mastodon. More people can thus run a fediverse server in a sustainable way without compromising on familiarity of interfaces. The talk will involve a tutorial about installation of a Snac2 instance and a demo of an instance that I run.
The proposal is pretty basic, and I'm not sure if the tutorial is more than straightforward instructions that one needs to follow.
This may do better as a lightning talk.
The content is not detailed enough to meaningfully evaluate this proposal. Please go through the proposal guidelines - https://forum.fossunited.org/t/talk-proposal-guidelines-for-a-foss-conference-meetup/1923
The reviewers felt that the proposal was too basic and lacked sufficient detail for a full talk slot. The consensus was that the content seemed more like a straightforward tutorial and that the proposal could be better suited as a lightning talk. For the future, we suggest providing more in-depth content that moves beyond basic instructions and highlights the unique challenges or technical aspects of your work.
