I would like to present my findings from the tree census published by BBMP based on the survey of trees in Bengaluru. This is a first of its kind activity taking place in the city.
I already have a blog post with the analysis of the preliminary data (linked below). I plan to update the analysis with the latest available data before the talk. A brief outline of the presentation:
Introduction
City-wide Tree Density
Zone-wise Tree Distribution
Tree species Distribution
Popular Trees By Zone
Unidentified Trees
Tools and code used for analysis
Conclusion
Get a glimpse of the tree cover in Bengaluru and its distribution in different parts of the city
Get an idea of the different species of trees in the city
Review a case study of an analysis involving GIS data
Look at different techniques that can be used to analyze and visualize GIS data
This will be a very interesting talk that will likely help many students in the audience consider similar projects in their city. It's a public service and is different from the normal rise and grind AI projects that so many student churn out.
Don't be afraid to get very technical. Please include as many technical details as possible. There is be a broad spectrum of people in audience, many of whom would really benefit from understanding these details
Good submission, and fits the devroom.
