Will discuss the following points briefly:

  • Basic explanation of kafka and streaming technologies in general
  • Briefly describe the kafka and infra setup at Zerodha
  • Comparing the major changes in our kafka + raft setup ditching zookeeper (old setup vs new)
  • Describe custom programs (that have been FOSS'd) written at zerodha for kafka disaster management

Kafka is an amazing software and the talk also seems decent! Also Zerodha OSS+++

The proposal could have contained additional details e.g. a brief description of the different FOSS technologies that are mentioned in the proposal as reviewers might not be familiar with them (I wasnt). Additionally, in an "old vs new" scenario, I would have expected a brief discussion of why the old needed to be changed to the new in the first place and what the pros and cons of the old vs new are.
