The Problem

One of the biggest concern while switching to Linux is inability to reliably run essential Windows native applications. While WINE exist some apps often necessitate a dedicated Windows environment.

The Traditional Gap

Current solutions fall into two extremes one is compatibility layer of WINE, or the resource-heavy overhead of running an entire Windows OS in a traditional Virtual Machine (VM).

The Solution (WinBoat)

This talk introduces WinBoat, a novel approach that bridges the gap. WinBoat delivers the high-compatibility benefits of a VM with a significantly reduced resource footprint and streamlined setup, offering a more stable and efficient execution environment for Windows native apps than WINE alone.
