Approved
Session Description

In this workshop, we'll take a look at a few simple ways of contributing to OpenStreetMap. These include -

  • the web-based desktop editor, iD

  • the gamified Android editor, StreetComplete; and

  • the web-based cross-platform editor, MapComplete.

We'll learn to add shops, amenities, streets, and buildings...and any other kinds of features the participants may be interested in.

Depending on participant interest, we can also explore

  • a few different ways of querying and downloading the data.

  • some adjacent libre data projects, like Wikimedia Commons, Panoramax, Mangrove Reviews, BeaconDB, etc
