Maintaining 100+ Helm Charts Weekly Without Breaking Production - kubeaid

Proposal status is Review Pending
Session Description

When I first tried setting up a production Kubernetes cluster, it took me 3 days: provisioning infrastructure, setting up monitoring, patching security across dozens of applications, and hoping backups worked. Then I had to spin up another cluster and start over. That's where KubeAid helps.

KubeAid is an open-source toolkit that solves this with production-ready configurations for bootstrapping, patching, monitoring, backups, and network security, all managed through Git.

I'll show how a production-grade cluster, single-host or multi-node, on any cloud, can be bootstrapped in 30-40 minutes. How weekly security updates across 100+ applications are synced end-to-end by an agent in under 10 minutes. And how our backup monitoring verifies data actually landed in storage, viewable with a single terminal command.

By the end, you'll know how to take a cluster from zero to production-ready in hours instead of weeks, using open source tooling you can adopt today.

Key Takeaways

How to bootstrap a fully production-ready Kubernetes cluster in 30- 40 minutes, whether it's a single-host demo setup or a multi-node production cluster.

How weekly security and version updates are synced end-to-end across 100+ cluster applications by a single agent so you don't need to worry about updates

How to actually verify your backups are working - not just that a backup job ran, but that data landed in the storage location it was supposed to
