MapToPoster is a fun side project that create visually stunning maps of your favourite location to be used a decor on wall as poster or as wallpapers on desktop.
I was sitting at a cafe and glanced upon an aerial map of Mumbai ( a city I lived in ) in a minimalist pencil style with its borders, sea, major roads and parks. I felt I could build one and do a better job on the visual design front. The project has since gone viral with over 2.3 Million people of social media viewing Maps created using MapToPoster.
This talk will teach the working basics of OSM, matplotlib, osmnx, geopandas, Nominatim and we will built Map Poster from scratch.
