This is not your usual happy ending story: "I build a cool product, here it is". In this talk, I want to talk about how I failed to build an MVP of a (not so complex) product and that too, in public (#failinpublic). The crisis could have been averted if only I was not too attracted by the shiny stuff (I am looking at you React!) and used the "best" tech stack.
I want to share my journey of building Hazelnode (github.com/BuildWithHussain/hazelnode), a workflow automation app like Zapier. This is was my first serious project with React and that's where the trouble began. Before this I have happily shipped different projects with VueJS. I want to share how even after 16 episodes (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQGFK8RiEPSIL8R4cpcpzEeIuMXhxctq9) and lot of behind the scenes refactoring, I still lost motivation to continue.
I want to share some introspection of this and how I plan to course correct. I will also bring in some practical examples from our Products team (Frappe Labs) that seem to work quite well when building a product.
