The goal of this talk is to explain how the apt package manager works under the hood, what the update & install commands actually do, how Ubuntu (or any other distro) maintains a repository and package index.

I'm one of those developers guilty of installing packages without knowing what actually happens internally - I would like to share my learnings with the broader audience
