Creating a CFP Form

CFP (Call for Proposals) is a form which is circulated in the community for potential speakers to propose a talk. The Talk Proposals are then reviewed by the FOSS United CFP Review Volunteers. It's highly recommended to include the FOSS United Talk Proposal Guidelines in the description of a CFP Form.

Follow the below steps to create one:

  • CFP (Call for Proposals) is a form where potential speakers submit their applications for giving a talk at the meetup or event.
  • On the Events Dashboard page, click on the CFP tab.
  • In the CFP section, click on Create Form.
  • The “Allow Proposal Edit” is the checkbox which if checked the user can edit their CFP Application even after already submitting it.
  • “Anonymise Proposals” is usually preferred because we do the CFP reviews on the platform itself and all the proposed talks will be available to the public. Internally, We mandate Blind Reviews which helps in being true to judgement.
  • The Checkboxes “Only Workshops” and “Only Talk Proposals” are used to keep a difference between talk proposals and workshop proposals. “Only Workshops” should be chosen when the event is workshop-specific.
  • In the standard details section, you can see what the default fields in the form are going to be. Additionally, you also have the option to add any custom field if you want to know any other details.
  • The CFP page will be accessible at https://fossunited.org/events/<event_name>/cfp

Note, once the CFP's are closed, you can download the data of the CFP Forms by clicking on the Download button in the insights section just like how we download the list of RSVP's.
